If you are suffering from sex addiction, you likely are hiding your addiction from family and friends who don’t understand what you are going through. Whether you tell them or not, you may face scrutiny and questions that are difficult to answer.
As a participant in a sex addiction recovery group, you will gain a secondary family that understands what it’s like to walk in your shoes and is there to support you through your recovery.
Within this confidential sex addiction recovery group, you can discuss your concerns and challenges with others who share them. There is no explanation, no qualifying, no defending, just understanding. This supportive sex addiction recovery group also allows you to ‘see’ your own behaviors through the stories of others. As you hear about the actions of other group members, you will gain more clarity about your own situation.
A recovery group allows you to share the challenges of controlling your addiction within a supportive group setting. As you learn to manage your sex addiction, you can help others in the group who are struggling. With the help of psychotherapist Barry Selman and the other group members, you’ll learn to understand and overcome the triggers that evoke addictive behavior.
The foundational causes of sex addiction can be addressed in a comfortable format, with no pressure or judgment, just support. You will meet others just like you who are wrestling with the same issues, and together you will overcome them.
Each sex addiction group therapy session is facilitated by Stephen Anthony in a relaxed format and comfortable environment you will talk openly and honestly, always moving in a direction that will help you achieve your recovery goals. Barry will facilitate discussion and moderate interaction, ensuring that the group progresses toward real life changes.
Stephen works with those recovering from sex addiction in one-on-one therapy as well as in group settings. While one-on-one therapy can be an important part of sex addiction therapy, group addiction recovery therapy allows you to develop a strong support network and learn from the trials and successes of others just like you.
